What is ABELDent and how is it used in a Dental Office?

You will be developing competencies in setting up offices, scheduling, patient file information, office staff information estimates and billing treatment.

What is ABELDent?

ABELDent is a dental practice management software that allows healthcare professionals to improve productivity in administration tasks. By doing so, this allows healthcare workers to shift their focus to prioritize more time on patient care and customer service.

Medix Online’s Dental Office Procedures course will introduce students to the basics of the program. ABELDent is a popular software widely used in various dental offices. Students enrolled in the course will be able to add providers, schedule appointments and organize patient records using the management software.

The software simplifies organizational and administrative tasks in which workers can efficiently set up office hours, enter confidential medical records, as well as link new patients with family members.

It is important to note that ABELDent is a Windows-based software and cannot run on a Mac OSX device. You require a Windows 8.1 Professional, Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate. Windows 8/7 Home, and Vista Home are NOT supported. Windows XP and Windows 2000 are no longer supported by ABELDent as well.

Improving dental office procedures

Implementing ABELDent helps to improve overall functionality within dental offices. It maximizes productivity by transitioning the office into paperless workflow.

The software has a practical and unique feature called, “Patient Alerts.” This function makes it easy and accessible for dental teams to retrieve specific patient conditions. For instance, if a patient has developed a new condition or allergy, the patient alert function can notify dental workers of the condition to prevent repeating screening questions.
